Billing is on Fonoster Cloud only. A self-hosted install has no billing, no credits and no
limits.
Plans
Every new owner starts on the Trial. When the 7 days end, calls pause until you upgrade. To
upgrade, go to Billing and choose Upgrade to Pay-as-you-go. Without a card on file, the
Customer Portal opens so you can add one, and the upgrade finishes when you come back.
A month’s plan credits pay for that month’s calls, and stay usable for 3 days after the month
ends. Trial credits you have left when you upgrade stay usable as long as your first month’s
plan credits.
Top-ups, auto-recharge and overdraft
On Pay-as-you-go you can buy more credits:- Top up: choose Top up and buy 1,000 credits ($10) or more. Top-up credits last 12 months.
- Auto-recharge: buy a set number of credits each time your balance drops below a threshold you choose, so calls never stop.
- Overdraft: your balance may go a little below zero, so a call in progress doesn’t drop. The overdraft is 200 credits, or 10% of your last top-up when that is larger. The next payment covers it.
What calls cost
A call costs $0.05 a minute (5 credits), billed by the second with a 15-second minimum. A 10-second call costs 1.25 credits, and a 2-minute call 10 credits. AI on Fonoster’s keys is billed too. Deepgram speech to text and text to speech are at cost, at Deepgram’s published price. LLM tokens have one price for every model: $0.40 per million input tokens, $0.10 per million cached input tokens and $1.60 per million output tokens. With your own vendor keys (Vendor keys), the vendor bills you for AI and Fonoster doesn’t. Answering-machine detection, recordings and their storage are included.Cancel your plan
You cancel in the Customer Portal: in Billing, choose Manage plan, payment methods and invoices, then Cancel plan. Your plan runs until the end of the month you paid for. Billing says Your plan ends on that date, and calls keep working until then. To keep Pay-as-you-go, open the portal again and choose Renew plan before that date. When the month ends, you have No plan:- The credits you have left still pay for calls, at the Trial’s limits (2 calls at the same time, no overdraft), until they expire.
- You can’t top up, and auto-recharge turns off.
- When your credits run out, calls pause.
